Silkyara (Uttarkashi) . Report by Tarun Mohan : Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami is continuously monitoring the ongoing rescue operation in Silkyara. Chief Minister Shri Dhami is taking updates from Commissioner Garhwal, IG Garhwal and the agencies engaged in relief and rescue operation in Silkyara .
Despite being in Indore, Madhya Pradesh at a program on Wednesday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami is in constant touch with Commissioner Garhwal and IG Garhwal and is taking constant updates of the rescue operation being conducted in Silkyara.
Along with this, the Chief Minister is also taking updates of every moment from the agencies engaged in relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister encouraged the concerned officials and relief and rescue agencies for the rescue operation going on war footing. Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that today a big challenge has come before us which we have to face successfully with full courage and patience. We are getting full support from the state government, administration as well as central agencies and central government . The Central Government and the Union Home Minister are continuously monitoring the rescue operation. Respected Prime Minister himself has taken information about the incident and relief and rescue operation.
It is worth noting that after the landslide incident in the under-construction Silkyara Polgaon road tunnel, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately held a meeting with senior officials of the government at the Chief Minister’s residence and directed that the district administration officials posted on the spot and those working there maintain constant coordination with the agencies, if any kind of need arises, relief material should be made available immediately.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the experts included in the committee formed by the government under the chairmanship of the Director, Uttarakhand Landslide Mitigation and Management Center to study and investigate the causes of the landslide in Silkyara Tunnel have inspected the site and started the investigation. Relief and rescue operations are going on at a fast pace.
